Five new members were appointed to the Board of Directors of Avow Hospice:
Ted Corbin, Senior Director, BNY Mellon Wealth Management
Mr. Corbin is a senior director, BNY Mellon Wealth Management, a leading bank and financial services corporation. In addition to his professional responsibilities, he is involved with charitable giving programs, endowments and foundations. Prior to his career in the financial services sector, Mr. Corbin was a professional baseball player with the Minnesota Twins from 1992-1995. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Auburn University.
Nancy Hoey, Pelican Bay and member of the Avow Hospice Naples Community Advisory Board
Ms. Hoey is a retired high school teacher from New Jersey. She also taught at the Stuart School of Business in New Jersey. She has been an active volunteer, serving Habitat for Humanity, Christ Child Society of Naples, Joy of Giving (Marco Island), Collier County Literacy Program and Avow Hospice. She was a cabinet member of the Pelican Bay Promise Campaign for Avow Hospice, which raised $1 million-plus for Avow’s programs. She also served on Avow’s Community Advisory Board for Marco Island and is chair of the Naples Community Advisory Board.
Roger Lipitz, retired health care executive
Mr. Lipitz is a former chairman of the board of the Baltimore Development Corporation and of the University of Maryland Medical System. He also chaired the board of Meridian Healthcare, the largest provider of long-term care services in Maryland. He is a past president of the American Health Care Association, the largest nursing home association in the U.S., and also served as president of the Maryland Nursing Home Association. He is a trustee of the Johns Hopkins University and chair of the Health Advisory Board at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Mark J. Moskowitz, MD, Florida Cancer Specialists
Dr. Moskowitz has been a leading board-certified medical oncologist and internist at Florida Cancer Specialists since 1996. Dr. Moskowitz holds a bachelor of arts degree from Southern Illinois University and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad CETEC,Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. His internship was at West Suburban Hospital, ILand his residency was at Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Moskowitz’s fellowship in hematology/oncology was at the University of Wisconsin Clinical Cancer Center. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Hospice & Palliative Care, Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
Richard D. Yovanovich, Esq., Coleman, Yovanovich & Koester, PA
Mr. Yovanovich is an attorney specializing in land use and local government. He moved toNaples in 1990 and was an Assistant County Attorney for Collier County from 1990-1994. Since entering private practice in 1994, Mr. Yovanovich has represented property owners through the entitlement process before local and state agencies. His representation includes projects ranging from small residential and commercial projects to large developments of regional impact. He holds a bachelor of arts degree from Furman University and both M.Ed. and J.D. degrees from the University of South Carolina.
