Karen Stevenson joined Avow Hospice in 2007 to oversee the organization’s fundraising and public relations activities. Prior to joining Avow, Karen was Director of Major Gifts for the Southeast Region for the University of Louisville. She has also served as Director of Major Gifts for the Health Sciences Center at the University, and in fundraising leadership positions at Bluefield College of Bluefield, VA.

Karen holds an MBA from Averett University in Danville, VA and a BS degree from Concord University in Athens, WV. She has extensive experience in designing and directing major gift programs; planning/organizing appeals for annual fund, capital campaign and planned giving programs; and trustee and advisory boards’ recruitment and training.

Avow® Hospice is a community-focused, not-for-profit hospice, serving its friends, families and neighbors living in Collier County, Florida since 1983. Avow provides specialized end-of-life care to those living with a life-threatening illness and offers support to those who are caring for them. Our interdisciplinary care team provides medical care, pain management and complementary therapies. Avow Hospice cares for patients wherever they live. In addition, Avow Hospice has the only hospice house in Collier County (for in-patient acute care and respite). Avow also offers grief and bereavement support to the families and friends of our patients as well as anyone in the community who has experienced a loss. Avow Hospice is a non-profit organization that relies on community donations to help fund patient care and programs for our community.
